i-Trip devices are to be made legal in Ireland before the end of the year, it was announced this afternoon.

i-Trip devices are to be made legal in Ireland before the end of the year, it was announced this afternoon.

The mechanisms are used to connect i-pods and other mp3 players to radios or car stereos and allow people to tune in their radio and listen to the mp3 through the speakers.

Such devices have been illegal here, as in effect they create a short range radio transmitter.
