Man arrested in connection with Dundalk murder

Gardaí in Co Louth have arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with the murder of a woman in Dundalk yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí in Co Louth have arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with the murder of a woman in Dundalk yesterday afternoon.

The 47-year-old victim died in Louth County Hospital shortly after falling ill at her home in the Cox’s Demesne area of the town.

Gardaí were initially treating the death as suspicious, but they launched a murder investigation this morning after receiving the results of a post mortem on the woman’s body.

The cause of her death has still not been revealed.
