Seven injured as bus crashes in Co Cavan

A bus carrying 50 people has crashed in Co Cavan.

A bus carrying 50 people has crashed in Co Cavan.

It was on its way from Donegal to Dublin when the accident happened at Dernacrieve near Swanlinbar just before 3pm this afternoon.

Members of the fire brigade are helping to remove passengers from the bus, which has turned onto its side.

It is believed a number of them are elderly.

Gardaí have said seven people have been treated for minor injuries so far.

Sergeant Dave Coyle of Ballyconnell Gardaí says it's not yet clear what happened.
