Gardaí say a domestic feud is behind the abduction of a woman in her 50s in Graiguecullen, Co Carlow last night.

It is believed that five men broke into the house, armed with baseball bats and sledgehammer handles early this morning and took the woman from her home.

It's understood that family members have been in contact with her, and the Gardaí say they are aware of the identity of at least two of her kidnappers.

A full-scale investigation is underway into the incident.
