More than €2m stolen in Dublin security van raid

A gang of armed raiders has escaped with more than €2m after holding up a security van in Dublin this morning.

A gang of armed raiders has escaped with more than €2m after holding up a security van in Dublin this morning.

A lone raider approached the security van at a service station on Skelly's Lane in Artane at around 7.30am.

He then threatened the driver with a handgun before ordering him to drive to the sports grounds in nearby Killester, where they were met by a number of others raiders.

Gardaí said the gang stole between €2m and €2.5m from the security van.
