Gardai are claiming another success following yesterday’s massive U2 concert at Slane Castle.

The rock concert, the second at the venue in a week, passed off well with only nine members of the 85,000 strong crowd arrested.

800 Gardai were on duty in the Boyne valley, including air support, mounted and water units.

Seven people were picked up for public order offences while the other two arrests were drugs-related.

A garda spokesperson said files were being prepared for the DPP in relation to 32 small drug seizures made during the course of the event.
