Bo Van Pelt fired a six-under-par 66 to move to 14-under overall and take a two-shot lead during the second round of the Buick Open.
Van Pelt, searching for his first championship on the PGA Tour, started on the back nine and birdied five of his first 10 holes before making a birdie on number seven during his bogey-free round at Grand Blanc’s Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club.
The 33-year-old Van Pelt started the day tied for the lead with Corey Pavin and Dudley Hart, who shot a four-under 68 and was locked in a three-way tie for second.
Pavin was one-under on his round and seven-under for the tournament through his first nine holes today.
Daniel Chopra carded a five-under 67 and was two shots behind Van Pelt along with Woody Austin, who birdied four straight holes and eagled another to move to 12-under for the tournament after his front nine.
