Inquests into the deaths of murdered schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman are being opened.
The hearings are set to be formally opened and adjourned by coroner David Morris.
He will deal with issues about the formal identification of the bodies.
Initial postmortem examinations of the remains found by British police last Saturday proved inconclusive.
Further analysis of the decomposed bodies must now be carried out. The process is expected to take some weeks.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Hebb, who helped to lead the initial stages of the inquiry, will give evidence at the inquest about the 10-year-olds' disappearance.
The hearing, at Shire Hall in Cambridge, is expected to last for around 10 minutes and will be adjourned to a later date.
The families of the girls are not expected to attend the hearings.
Ian Huntley, 28, has been charged with the murder of the youngsters and is detained in Rampton Hospital while psychiatric tests are completed.
His 25-year-old partner Maxine Carr was remanded in custody when she appeared before Peterborough magistrates on a charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice in connection with the case and will appear at Peterborough Crown Court next week.
