Constitutional convention recommends larger constituencies of 5 TDs

The government has been officially advised to change Ireland's election laws to allow for bigger constituencies.

The Constitutional Convention has submitted its report, which says each constituency should be represented by at least five TDs.

The convention said expanding constituencies will make it less difficult for smaller parties to be represented in the Dail.

The report also recommends allowing greater access to postal voting, and that non-TDs should be allowed to become ministers.
