Kelly not keen on job losses

While an investigation into the misplacing of a thousand tickets for last weekend's All-Ireland hurling final is underway, GAA President Sean Kelly does not expect heads to roll over the incident.

The tickets had been mistakenly set aside and labelled as 'Football Final' tickets and were with various allocations of tickets awaiting distribution for the Kerry v Tyrone game, when found.

Kelly said: "I made it clear as soon as I heard it - that we were going to find out what happened and that there would be full transparency up front if there’s a mistake made.

"Whether it (the disappearance of the tickets) could have been spotted in advance is something that has to be looked at now.

"All we have at the moment is that the tickets have been found, they have been counted and now we’ll look at why it wasn’t spotted sooner.

"Rather than knocking heads, I think we have to strive forward, put a system in place to make sure it never happens again."

The GAA suffered a loss of €60,000 because of the mishap.
