Defence forces feel ignored by pay awards

The Defence forces say that they are bitterly disappointed by the benchmarking awards.

The organisation representing the forces say the pay recommendation of 4% in no way represents the dangerous and difficult circumstances that soldiers, aircrew and soldiers often endure.

PDFORRA now insists that the benchmarking decision will further recruitment problems for the defence forces.

The representing body maintains that the independent pay awards did not consider the hazardous conditions that the forces deal with every day.
