The 32-year-old's final game might have ended on a controversial note as he was seen to raise his hurl into the face of Cork defender John Gardiner last Saturday.

But Dublin referee Eamonn Morris was alerted to the incident and booked both players, meaning that the GAA's Central Disciplinary Committee cannot review the case.

The Ryans, along with their other brother Davy, were central to Garryspillane's first ever senior county title win last year.
