It has been reported cancer patients will now only have restricted access to medicines.

A leaked health memo has revealed that health officials have discussed the need to change doctors traditional practice of prescribing drugs.

Drug treatment for some patients with cancer can cost up to €20,000.

Deputy McManus said that sick people should not be affected by the cuts being introduced across the country.
