Ex-goalie Peter Schmeichel was hanging up his dancing shoes today after being voted off Strictly Come Dancing.
The former Manchester United star was eliminated along with his dancing partner Erin Boag on the BBC show last night.
Schmeichel, who turned 43 the day of his departure from the show, said bad things always seemed to happen on his birthday.
He said: “I have no luck on my birthdays. I once missed world cup qualification on my birthday. I’m used to it,” reported BBC Online.
The show attracted 9.4 million viewers peaking at 9.9m while the later results programme was watched by 7.3m and peaked at 7.4m.
Six celebrities and their dancing partners are left to battle it out in the competition.
Those practising their steps for next week’s show include Carol Smillie, Emma Bunton and Matt Dawson.
