Cardinal flies in from Rome today

Cardinal Desmond Connell will return home from Rome later today.

Cardinal Desmond Connell will return home from Rome later today.

The 74-year-old church leader, who was elevated from archbishop by Pope John Paul II at a special ceremony in the Vatican last Wednesday, is due to arrive at Dublin Airport at around 2.30pm today.

He will then travel to Aras an Uachtarain where he will be greeted by President Mary McAleese.
