Keith Richards has been recording with Jack White.
The rocker has been filling his time waiting to make a new Rolling Stones album by collaborating with the White Stripes and Raconteurs star on a secret project.
He said: “I enjoy working with Jack. We’ve done a couple of tracks.”
The duo may also be teaming up for another venture, with the veteran musician hinting the ‘Steady As She Goes’ hitmaker may take on production duties for the next Rolling Stones record.
He added to Rolling Stone magazine: “I’m trying to gather the boys together. One way or another, I’ll get them back in line.
“Might Jack produce the record? I couldn’t fuel that rumour any more than to say Jack and I are in touch.”
In addition to his work with White, Richards and Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger are going through outtakes for a forthcoming deluxe edition of their 1972 classic album ‘Exile On Main Street’.
He said: “There’s new songs on there, stuff we’ve forgotten about.
“Mick and I were looking at each other like, ‘Ah, did we do that?’ ”
Finally, Richards is working on his autobiography – but admits it is a tougher task than he expected.
He explained: “I’m working on it with James Fox. I’m trying to remember things, which is very difficult.”
