Limerick hurling boss Pat Joe Whelahan has denied speculation that he will perform a dual role this year - just days after six players were issued with a hurling versus football ultimatum.
Rumours were rife that Whelahan would continue managing his native Birr though he denied strenuously that he is set to do both jobs.
Whelahan blasted: "Someone around here is trying to cause trouble. I can say categorically that I will not be managing Birr. Paul Murphy is the new manager."
