IPU executive to discuss new proposals

The executive body of the Irish Postmasters' Union will meet this afternoon to discuss settlement proposals aimed at ending the union's dispute with An Post.

The executive body of the Irish Postmasters' Union will meet this afternoon to discuss settlement proposals aimed at ending the union's dispute with An Post.

The plan was put forward by industrial relations negotiator Phil Flynn.

If the IPU accepts the deal, it could begin balloting its members as early as tomorrow.

The dispute centres on the €2 per-hour that postmasters receive for work done prior to 8am.
