Government to vote against Aer Lingus CEO pension rise

The Chief Executive of Aer Lingus Christoph Mueller is expected to come under pressure this afternoon over his pay package.

The Government is expected to vote against a deal to increase the pay of Mueller by 15% at the company’s AGM which is underway in Dublin.

The plan would add more than €70,000 a year to his pension contributions.

The non-binding vote comes amid an ongoing dispute with the airline's workers who fear for the very future of their own pension fund.
