Tesco stores in southern border counties are to reopen this morning with their stock marked down to reflect sterling prices.
The move is aimed at stemming the tide of shoppers going north of the border to avail of significantly lower prices.
Tesco stores from Louth to Donegal were closed over the weekend to allow goods to be repriced in a bid to win back customers.
Meanwhile, the British retailer has denied reports that it is planning to phase out Irish goods.
