Noel King resigns from Harps

Finn Harps Football Club and Noel King have parted company with immediate effect.

Finn Harps Football Club and Noel King have parted company with immediate effect.

King felt he could not give his full commitment to the job for personal reasons, and the travelling to and from Dublin was taking its effect on him. He said he was unable to carry out his duties in the manner he would like to do.

The board of Finn Harps was shocked that Noel King decided to step down from the position of manager, but said it fully understands his reasons for doing so.

The playing staff were informed of his decision at training this morning.

The board will look to appoint a new person to the position at the earliest opportunity.

First-team coach Sean McGowan will take charge of team affairs for the immediate future.
