Sligo hero Paul Taylor has revealed his shock and disappointment following his omission from James Kearns' pre season football panel.

Taylor has been the county's key forward for years but new boss Kearns axed him saying the Eastern Harps man isn't the player he once was because of injuries.

Taylor said: "This is obviously a blow to me and something I never expected.

"But I have no intention of allowing this to close the door on my inter-county career. I intend to fight back and regain my place."
