The final of the Leinster football championship takes place today at Croke
Park as old enemies Dublin and Meath renew their rivalry.
The Royal county have been installed as second favourites to lift the All Ireland trophy after they defeated Kildare in the last round of the championships.
However, Dublin and Meath games rarely respect current form, particularly in the
Leinster final.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the epic encounter between the two
side, which produced three replays before the two teams could be separated,
with Meath coming out the winners.
Dublin coach, Tommy Carr was the captain of the Dublin team in that year and he hopes that it can serve as motivation for his team to overcome their foes.
Meath received a welcome boost during the week when their talismanic midfielder, John McDermott was passed fit to play in his first game of the season after he came back out of retirement.
The match kicks off at 4.20pm today.
