Shelbourne manager Pat Fenlon will be in Lille tonight to check out his side’s UEFA Cup opponents.
Fenlon went out to northern France this morning with chief scout Dave Henderson to see Lille play Nice in a French Ligue 1 match ahead of their first round first leg game at Lansdowne Road next Thursday night.
Kick-off for the UEFA Cup tie was finally set for 7pm on Thursday after Lille agreed to a switch from a 5.30pm start following the breakdown of a French television agreement.
Meanwhile, Fenlon left Dublin this morning having tied up Ollie Cahill and Dave Crawley to new contracts with the league champions.
Former Cork City winger Cahill has signed for a further three years while Crawley inked a new two-year deal.
Fenlon told ShelsWeb: “I’m delighted to have secured the services of the two lads for the next few seasons.
"We’re in the middle of a very hectic and successful season so far, but it’s important to look ahead and build on what we’ve achieved.
"Next on the list is Stuey Byrne, and we’re currently in talks with him with a view to extending his contract also.”
