Fianna Fail Senator Mary O’Rourke has been appointed as leader of the Seanad.

Fianna Fail Senator Mary O’Rourke has been appointed as leader of the Seanad.

The former TD, who lost her Dail seat in the May election, was appointed this evening by the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern.

Senator Rory Kiely was chosen as the Fianna Fail nominee for Cathaoirleach of the Seanad.
