The Health Minister James Reilly says he is 'deeply sorry' for the way proposed HSE cuts were announced last week.
Reilly admitted that he failed to communicate properly to people with disabilities over cuts to personal assistance hours.
He says that he is losing patience with consultants over working arrangements as he attempts to address the €259m health service deficit.
“I have absolutely no problem in acknowledging that I failed to communicate to people, those who in particular feared the most and ended up sitting outside government buildings overnight.
“For that I am deeply sorry.”
