Neil Lennon felt winning the SPL championship was the highlight of his career.
The Northern Ireland international said: ‘‘It is a great day personally and for the club. We could not ask any more from the players or the crowd.
‘‘To come and win the championship here is difficult to put into words. I don’t think it has really sunk in yet.
Lennon joined the Bhoys from Leicester in a £5.75m deal in December last year, but felt that the majority of the work to secure the championship had already been done by the time he arrived at Parkhead.
‘‘The groundwork was already done I just came in and added a bit of heart,’’ he said.
‘‘I am really pleased with the way things have gone. It would be nice to do the Treble, but at least we have two parts.’’
Striker Henrik Larsson said: ‘‘We had everything to lose today. They tried to sit back and tried to counter us.
‘‘Luckily we scored one goal and we managed to win the game. It’s a tremendous feeling to win.
‘‘This is very special to me. We have been having a tough time since we won the championship the last time. We managed to turn that around this season.’’
Despite winning the title, the Swede claimed Celtic’s work had just begun.
Larsson added: ‘‘We hope we can build on that this time and for the future.
‘‘We have to keep on trying to attract the best players we can get.’’
But Larsson refused to be drawn on negotiations over a new contract. When asked if he would have talks this week, the 47-goal striker responded: ‘‘I don’t know.’’
