The body of a man - missing since he went swimming at a quarry in Tipperary yesterday - has been recovered this morning.
Rescuers had been searching for the man - who was in his sixties - since he was last seen at the quarry near Carrick-on-Suir yesterday evening.
It brings to ten, the number of people who have drowned on Irish waterways since the heatwave began.
Fergus Cooney of the Irish Coastguard is appealing for vigilance around our seas and waterways.
"We encourage people to dial 112 or 999 if they see somebody in trouble in the water or even on the beach or on the cliff and to ask for the coastguard," he said.
"It is important that people make that call early
"We would rather be on our way to a call and find out that we weren't needed and turn back than for somebody to be in the water and in trouble when time is absolutely critical."
