8 Mile tops UK box office
Eminem's movie debut 8 Mile has topped the UK box office charts after a successful opening weekend.
The rapper, who stars as Jimmy Smith Jr aka Rabbit in the story, knocked Lord Of The Rings of its top spot, which it had held for four weeks.
The movie is a semi-autobiographical account of Eminem's early days struggling to make his mark on the scene in his native Detroit.
It follows similar success in Australia and the US, where it enjoyed similarly high box office returns.
