Mick McCarthy has rejoined the Irish football squad in time for Saturday's World Cup qualifier in Cyprus.
The squad boss had been called home to Barnsley where his father Charlie is seriously ill but is now accompanying the team to Cyprus.
The squad will spend the days in the run-up to Saturday's match getting used to the climate in Cyprus.
Temperatures in Cyprus average 20-25 degrees Centigrade at this time of year.
Assistant manager Ian Evans yesterday confirmed that no decision has yet been made on who will partner Robbie Keane up front.
Kevin Kilbane and Gary Docherty are believed to be the strongest candidates.
