Sampdoria have confirmed the sacking of head coach Domenico Di Carlo with Alberto Cavasin coming to replace him.
Di Carlo and his backroom staff have paid the price for Sampdoria’s poor season which sees them just three points above the Serie A relegation zone.
The move comes after the 3-2 defeat at home to Cesena which was their second defeat in a row.
The Genoa club have struggled following the January transfer window sales of Antonio Cassano to AC Milan and Giampaolo Pazzini to Inter.
Cavasin has been appointed until the end of the season.
