Golf: McLean and Leaney take lead in New Zealand

Australian duo James McLean and Stephen Leaney are tied for the lead on seven under par after the second round of the New Zealand Open this morning.

McLean followed his opening-round 65 with a 70 today, while Leaney shot a 67 to equal the best round of the day.

Amateur Adam Groom is in third place along with New Zealand’s Steve Alker and Australia’s Craig Parry, while overnight leader Scott Gardiner is tied for seventh place after carding a three-over-par 74.

World number one Tiger Woods shot a disappointing second-round 73 to narrowly miss the cut on one over par.
