Proinsias De Rossa is rejecting EU proposals to deregulate loading and unloading services at Irish ports.

Proinsias De Rossa is rejecting EU proposals to deregulate loading and unloading services at Irish ports.

The Labour MEP is calling on fellow MEPs to vote against the proposal at this week's European Parliament session in Starsbourg.

He says accepting the 'port services' directive would result in the loss of ten thousand jobs across the country.

He added that the loss of jobs will also clear the road for social dumping and unsafe working conditions in our ports.
