Jeremy Noseda declared Sixties Icon to be in “tip-top shape” ahead of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp tomorrow.
The brilliant St Leger winner, supplemented for the Arc to the tune of €60,000, is the sole British raider and faces the biggest test of his career when taking on top-class older horses for the first time.
Despite the magnitude of the test that awaits in France, Noseda is relishing the prospect of his three-year-old competing against the likes of Hurricane Run, Deep Impact and Shirocco.
“Sixties Icon is in good order,” the Shalfleet handler told www.jeremynoseda.com.
“It is obviously a very competitive contest but I am very happy with him – he is approaching the race in tip-top shape.
“The ground won’t present a problem to him. Anything from good through to soft won’t be an issue.”
