Gardaí in Co Louth are investigating the sudden death of a man in the early hours of this morning.

Officers were called to a disturbance involving guests at a wedding in the Readypenny Inn on the Old Dundalk/Ardee Road around 12.10am this morning.

A man was found in a collapsed state inside the door. CPR was performed at the scene but he was pronounced dead approximately an hour later.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination. A post mortem is being carried out in Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda.
