Angelina Jolie's digital alter-ego Lara Croft has been awarded a Guinness World Record as the Most Successful Human Videogame Heroine.
The computer-generated Tomb Raider beauty has been hailed for "transcending the boundaries of videogames and becoming a recognisable figure in mainstream society".
During the past ten years the archeologist heroine has graced over 200 magazine covers and sold over 28 million videogames.
