The controversial dog breeding bill has been passed in the Dáil by a considerable 42-vote majority.

The Labour Party today joined the Government in voting in favour of the legislation, which aims to regulate puppy farms.

The legislation, which had initially been opposed by a number of government back-benchers, was heavily amended to satisfy their concerns.
