Work gets underway on LUAS docklands extension

Work is getting underway today on an extension of the LUAS tram service to Dublin's docklands.

Work is getting underway today on an extension of the LUAS tram service to Dublin's docklands.

The project involves the construction of 1.5kms of track from Connolly Station to the Point Depot.

Four new stops will also be constructed along the route, which is scheduled to take 16 months to complete.

It is expected to lead to an extra two million journeys being taken on the LUAS each year.
