West Ham have signed Israel striker Yaniv Katan from Maccabi Haifa on a three-and-a-half-year contract, subject to him passing a medical and obtaining a work permit.
The 24-year-old’s contract was due to expire at the end of the season and he will be registered for the Hammers when the transfer window opens on January 1.
“We are delighted to have secured the signature of Yaniv Katan and we expect him to become an important member of our squad,” said manager Alan Pardew.
“The chance to sign a player of his quality was a great opportunity for West Ham and one that we could not miss.
“His signing represents a good deal for the club and will give us the resources to further add to the squad when the transfer window opens in January.”
