Irish international Peter Clohessy has been hospitalised after apparently suffering severe burns in a fire at his home in Limerick last night.

The Munster prop was apparently burning rubbish at his home when a minor explosion left him with burns on his face and arms.

He is believed to be receiving treatment in University College Hospital in Galway this afternoon.

It is unclear if Clohessy will be able to line out for Munster in the Heineken Cup semi-final against Castres in two-and-a-half weeks’ time.
