A teenager has been rescued almost a week after an apartment building in central Turkey collapsed, killing at least 66 people.

Emergency teams pulled 16-year-old Muhammet Kalem from the wreckage and gave them renewed hope there may be more survivors.

Around 40 people are believed to be buried.

"I kept hearing the voices of rescuers. I tried not to lose hope thinking they would eventually find me. I fell asleep from time to time," the Anatolia news agency quoted Kalem as saying at a local hospital.
