Soul singer Joss Stone refuses to wear shoes onstage - because they cripple her feet.

The 20-year-old is rarely seen onstage wearing shoes during performances - and admits it is because she is too clumsy to perform in heels.

"It's nothing to do with being grounded and it's nothing to do with a statement," she said. "I just don't want to fall over.

"I love shoes and I think they're sexy and gorgeous, but they hurt and you fall over a lot.

"I'm totally clumsy, especially when I'm on stage because you gotta get into it and sometimes your whole body is involved so you can't trust yourself to stay standing."
