A climber has been airlifted from Croagh Patrick today.

A climber has been airlifted from Croagh Patrick today.

The incident happened after the woman suffered a broken ankle.

She has been taken by rescue helicopters to Castlebar General Hospital for treatment.

The 46-year-old was taken by the Air Corps helicopter after a call was made by the coastguard at around 4pm.

The female climber is now being treated by medical staff after the incident.
