Bohs crash out of the cup

Gavin Peers was the Sligo hero as they are now within 90 minutes of burying the ghost of last season's FAI Ford Cup final disappointment by reaching the decider again with this deserved win at Dalymount.

This was a terrific display by Paul Cook's side as they outplayed Bohs for long spells of the game.

Sligo started brightly and should have been in front on 12 minutes.

Matt Blinkhorn found Romuald Boco who flicked the ball past Conor Powell only to put his lob over the Boh's crossbar.

A terrific double save from keeper Barry Murphy, from John Russell and then Blinkhorn, on 36 minutes kept Bohs in the match until half-time.

Bohs enjoyed a decent spell in the second half, but Sligo got their deserved winner on 75 minutes.

Skipper Richie Ryan put over a corner and central defender Peers threw himself at the ball to score with a brave diving header.
