Thornton looking to bag more goals
Sunderland and Ireland U21 international forward Sean Thornton has the twin aims of promotion and getting among the goals on the opening day of the Division One season.
“We’ve got to be confident of getting promotion – we’ve got to be looking to be champions, really,” he said.
“We’ve got to set our sights high. The main thing is just to get promotion.
“Personally, I’m looking for more goals. I think there’s goals in me because I think I’m a goalscoring midfielder, from open play and set pieces.
“Hopefully I’ll get a handful of goals this season.”
