Tipperary have left a vacancy at centre-back in the hope that talisman Tommy Dunne will be fit in time for Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final with champions Kilkenny at Croke Park.
John Carroll had been an injury concern but starts at centre-forward leaving boss Michael Doyle with just the fitness of 2001 Hurler of the Year Dunne (ankle ligament) to worry about.
