Man in serious condition after attack in south Dublin

A man is in a serious condition in hospital in Dublin following an assault in the south of Dublin city last night.

A man is in a serious condition in hospital in Dublin following an assault in the south of Dublin city last night.

Gardaí discovered the man with serious injuries to his head and face in a laneway off Tryconnell Road in Inchicore at about 10pm last night.

They're trying to establish the identity of the victim, who is described as being five foot nine in height, of slim build with short dark hair.

He also has a tattoo of a cross on his upper left arm.
