Govt to come under renewed pressure as Dáil resumes

The Taoiseach and Government will come under fire again today over the EU/IMF deal to bailout Ireland.

The Taoiseach and Government will come under fire again today over the EU/IMF deal to bailout Ireland.

Opposition leaders are expected to use today's Dáil session to put pressure on Brian Cowen over the deal.

Both the Fine Gael and Labour leaders will question the Taoiseach on the use of the National Pensions Reserve Fund as part of the EU/IMF deal.

Meanwhile Sinn Féin's new TD, Pearse Doherty, will take his seat when the Dáíl resumes this afternoon.

With the addition of Pearse Doherty as a TD, Sinn Féin now has five TDs.

The party may team up with a number of independents to form a technical group, giving them status as an opposition grouping for the few weeks left in the life of this Dáil.
