Ascot next for Galway

Bodes Galaxy is being targeted at the Cornwallis Stakes at Ascot next month after being ruled out of tomorrow’s Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury.

The Nick Littmoden-trained youngster, placed in both the Richmond and Gimcrack Stakes, was found to have a bruised foot this morning

“He’s bruised a hind foot so he’s out of the Mill Reef which is a bit of blow, but we’re now aiming him at the Cornwallis Stakes,” Littmoden said.

“We’ve had our vet look at him. It’s nothing serious and while he has to miss the Mill Reef it’s not the end of his season. He’ll be as right as rain in a couple of days.

“The Cornwallis is the only Group Two left domestically so that’s why we are going there. The stiff five at Ascot should be ideal.”
