Rock Of Gibraltar has been installed as 5-1 second-favourite for the Breeders’ Cup Classic by Coral.
Aidan O’Brien has yet to decide between the Mile or Classic as the target for his record-breaking colt, winner of seven successive Group One events, and last seen when trotting up in the Prix du Moulin.
But Coral spokesman David Stevens said: “We’re as much in the dark as anyone else with regard to the running plans of the Ballydoyle stars. But there’s no doubt that in an open year, the Rock could well be challenging for Classic favouritism.”
Coral make the Sir Alex Ferguson-owned Rock Of Gibraltar clear 5-4 favourite for the Mile, with stablemate Hawk Wing an 8-1 chance for the Classic.
There has, however, been some opposition to the chances Rock Of Gibraltar in the Mile.
Ladbrokes report quite a plunge on the Wally Dollasse-trained six-year-old Good Journey, who is now a 10-1 chance having been available at 16-1 a few days ago following what the ‘Magic Sign’ describe as a “stream of money”.
Good Journey comes into the race on the back of a one-length success in the Grade One Atto Mile at Woodbine, where Godolphin’s Champion Stakes third Noverre could only manage sixth, albeit from an unfavourable draw.
